On the Tracks in Mayerthorpe
It has been a while since I painted anything from Mayerthorpe. Hanging out on the tracks isn’t the safest place to watch a storm, but it gave me a pretty nice view.

This is another little pet portrait I did recently. I’m told that Luke understands both English and German, and likes to go for walks on his leash. Sounds like a pretty cool cat!
I recently saw a nuthatch for the first time, so I’ve been wanting to paint it. I found out that it is the only bird that can walk straight down a tree trunk. It hides seeds in the trunk to eat later.

I like the diagonal movement in this one. It’s easy to imagine everything swaying back and forth in the breeze and the birds fluttering from one reed to the next.

Many of my latest bird paintings are now available as prints on my Etsy page. Have a look!
This cat has a very intense stare. He looks like he’s going to pounce on one of my birds.
These cats are hanging out at the Corner Cup Coffee House.
